things stocke knows
To add: Bloody Bones interrogations. Lots of other stuff

A large amount of this is picked up from spying on the public network or handwaved from FAQ info he could plausibly discover; I've given up on linking to sources but if you want to dig through my large pile from before I gave in, go for it.
If you're getting this as notes from Stocke, it's only going to be copies of anything not marked as in cipher; he'd probably be willing to talk about the rest but that'd be in person. His handwriting looks kind of like this.
ALSO: Stocke has a group of hesitantly non-hostile Vandare natives that are willing to bring him info in exchange for favours - if you need an excuse to find out something about the city, especially the underbelly and its residents, he's a decent option.

- Allegedly brought us all here and is the reason for our transformations
- Often manifests as a woman
- Has some connection to/command over Dyster. Those sworn to her can appear in a different version of the town. This place is apparently inhabited by humans that volunteer to be eaten
- Can interfere with and rewrite people's memories
- According to Liewen, she must be kept balanced with Elias
- Furthermore, Liewen says she is impossible to trap but may somehow be possible to kill
- According to <thegreatduke>, corroborated by mass shared dreams - we aren't the first time the fog god has tried to create monster followers. (The transformed before us turned on her for more power?)
Other God
- Used to be known as Elias Liewen
- Is the son of Dr. Liewen, who was once in charge of Liewen Laboratories
- Dr. Liewen was probably involved in Elias gaining power about 30 years ago
- He seems to have used Elias to build and power the network; for this purpose, Elias was trapped in a set of tunnels below Bavan
- He was later released by a group of monsters
- Where the Fog God has Dyster, Elias has a complex - it seems to be underground. Wouldn't be too much of a stretch to guess that it's a different version of something, as Dyster is. When I last saw it it was filled with technology on the high end of Ryslig's development. There were also potential 'sacrifices' chained within for spilling blood
- If one trusts the fog god's word, he was responsible for the time new ones of our kind arrived early and transformed into living corpses
- Those within that group had similar dreams - including ones of a hospital and someone - presumably the fog god - calling them imposters
- Liewen claims an exact analogue of what he has said about the fog god for Elias
Night and Day Gods
- Elias has stated that they don't actually exist
- I certainly haven't seen them in person, but I have seen followers of the night god express great amounts of power
- For a short time, some of them were able to cure us of our curse. Others were participants in the Rotans' mob and able to use spellcraft against us
- As our curse returned, the night god is weaker than the fog god, or doesn't wish to spare as much power - if extant at all
- I have attempted to recreate some night god spells with an associate. So far, all our experiments have been unsuccessful
- At least one member of the Bloody Bones followed them prior to dying, but claimed they needed to be 'restored' (to their full strength?)

- Have caught and permanently killed one of the transformed. Give credit to the use of specific materials (monster bane?)
- They have multiple members;
<15>/Frank claims to be following a bossled by a Dean Weissman- Allegedly not behind Rota, but someone in their number was close to the town, and they did render assistance beforehand
- May know something of the monsters before us
- The transformed that went after the body were rescued by a night god follower,
perhaps a Rotan girlMana- They've captured one of those creatures from Motasvard - watch out for a hound-like skeleton, it's fatal to the touch
- Are able to use their own sort of fog spell, similar to the parasitic one over a year ago
-
A now-dead memberwas quoted saying if the day and night gods weren't restored, the whole peninsula would fall, and that by dying for their sake she would avoid a curse set on 'those that live below.' Debbie- Set up headquarters in Vandare. Spotted:
[in cipher]
- Doctor Rainsford. Island sold (may be worth checking the tunnels again?)
- Parasitic fog - related to mountain transformation? Both came from Plaga's Peak
- Virgin sacrifices last year. Name on hand again this year, compulsion to kill instead of team up. Fog god dreams. Was credited to ghosts last time but I don't feel it's a stretch to say she's at fault
- Truth telling curse
- Motasvard: separated itself from the peninsula many years ago. May have been punished by the fog god. Only inhabitants remaining: hound-shaped skeletons that fed on memories - anyone eaten by them is forgotten. Natives know nothing - it's a fairytale, a city that's known to show up only in old histories
- Tikbalang:
one of the previous transformed? Haven't been able to summon him this monthHe's dead. Used to be human. Killed by Mana, six monsters, <XIII> - post on the network before calling to arms, <krxiv>, <unovaliance> - Touya, <likeaphoenix>, <swordofice> -sounds familiarKamishiro on Kid's challenge- "she and Tikbalang were from beyond the peninsula. they were in the war we saw in the visions but they were both human back then" "he said they do this every hundred years and he always wins but he wanted her to win and she finally did"
- talking plants in the woods. may somehow owe allegiance to Mana?

<INVENTOR> Do not trust either Fog nor my son, but keep them occupied if you are to survive. You must...do everything in your power.
<INVENTOR> Join a side if you must, but make sure that neither has more dominion than the other, or Ryslig will suffer as a result. Do not stay unaligned for too long, or they will grow impatient. I understand that there is little reason to trust me, but you must believe me!
<INVENTOR> It was already dangerously close to breaking when the spells were cast to give you human form again last month...
<INVENTOR> I am breaking down...not much time...not much time...
<INVENTOR> While they toll to win your sway, I have prepared something to aid you. It will require your own energies to function in tandem with your communication device.
<INVENTOR> A private channel that even HE cannot access. A blind spot that you can use to plan. However, its usage is limited to text only, and you can only once it once per two months, at best, leaving you completely drained.
<INVENTOR> Use it for emergencies. I will send all of you a special download, a virus from his prying eyes. Give this to new arrivals when they show up.
<INVENTOR> And please...forgive him...forgive her...forgive us...for everything.

[Tucked underneath, on newspaper scrap:]
[in cipher]
- 'those that live below' - referring to us here, below the heavens, or something underground? below collapsed mountain?
- mountain itself seems to have been another "god": weaker but power on same scale
- marks from mountain's collapse. thought i was spared but there's an occasional glow on the arms of my shadow form mimicking the markings i had as a demon
- if it spites the fog god i'm happy for them to remain
- mountain: one of the old monsters that rebelled against the fog god?
- or stole power from the night and day gods so they must be 'restored'? for that matter, did the fog god steal her strength from them in the same way elias has some of hers?
- or all obtained it naturally? (what is natural in terms of gods?)
- frank is 16. family killed by monsters (except the leader of his group?)
- seems to think killing us will return us home?
- translates things for the rest of the group
- stole the skeletal hound; it was with him last i saw
- stayed with <XIV>/Xion for some time

[There are a bunch of pages that don't seem to be in his handwriting here. Symbols from Hemlig are scrawled over them.]
